11/07/10 – Denise Van Outen

Denise Van Outen has blamed the paparazzi for having to give up breastfeeding. She couldn’t bear being photographed in Starbucks with her new born and then potentially seeing pictures of her exposed breasts all over the papers.
She also claims not to have produced enough milk. This could very well be true but with the right help and support there are all sorts of [...]

04/07/10 – Booby Cupcakes

I promised you pictures of the beautiful pictures my cupcake lady made for the Baby Expo and here they are….
From Fiona at Sugar Sugar, they taste as good as they look

03/07/10 – Fashion Show pics

Here are the lovely ladies out in support of MILK, wearing all of our Summer collection.
Some of them were shaking when they first went on and by the end they were waving and dancing for the audience. It was lovely to watch……Magic night.

27/06/10 – Brighton Baby Expo

Today we did a massive family exhibition up at the race course in Brighton. My stand was two days in the making, my cupcakes, luscious and my brow, fevered by the time the doors opened.
Five thousand people came and hopefully the same number went home again in time to watch us get beaten four nil [...]

25/06/10 – MILK

Today we are doing a fashion show to celebrate the culmination of national breastfeeding week and to raise funds for the local breastfeeding support group MILK. It is totally representative of how times have changed for a modern mother that we now have to have state funded groups to help women to establish effective and comfortable breastfeeding. [...]

18/06/10 – Breastfeeding in Public

Thanks to an ongoing and relentless campign by the fine folk at The Breastfeeding Manifesto, new legislation has now been passed making it illegal to prevent a woman from breastfeeding her baby in public.
Under the new Equality Act, passed in April 2010, mums cannot be discriminated against, asked to leave a venue or treated unfavourably because they are [...]

02/05/10 – Biodegradable bags

We finally got round to changing our plastic clothing bags to biodegradable ones…
As from this week all of our lovely stock will be going out in bags that will certainly not still be around when the dresses and tops are in the fourth or fifth season! (Mummy Looks Fab!)
Here is where we got them The Biodegradable Bag Company

08/04/10 – Breastfeeding and Friendships

I made a few really solid friends when I had my little boy.
We bonded through the process of being pregnant, giving birth and then breastfeeding our babies together through those first few wonderful and traumatic weeks.
It is now four years on and very, very occasionally I have a moment where I discover there are fundamental things that [...]

08/02/10 – Safe baby bottles

Obviously my thing is breastfeeding otherwise I wouldn’t be trying to make a living selling clothes that enable you to do it more discretely and comfortably.
However, for those occasions when you need to bottle feed, whether you are expressing or making up formula, its best to avoid plastics – and especially to avoid heating said plastic bottles [...]

20/01/10 – When I grow up, I want to be….

Just like Mama Cocoon.
I run a business selling breastfeeding clothes, and although we are only 20 days in to trying to give up plastics I have been firmly in denial about how to effect this change across my whole life.
My clothes are shipped from Singapore and Hong Kong. Some are organic cotton, bamboo cotton or modal (Made from the cellulose [...]
