I was given a very useful little book for my birthday. The Sussex Food Finder.

With everything from fruit and veg box suppliers to local vineyards and Pick Your Own, it has a comprehensive and useful list of all the food and drink producers in Sussex. There is even a section devoted to chocolate…..

Often over-looked, sadly under-rated, we have an abundance of tiny yellow courgettes courtesy of the miracle that is the grow bags. So far they have been the only harvest-able crop from my little experiment in temporary veg patch but we already have more than I can persuade the children to eat. I found this on E-bay – Garden Pourer.
It turns any bottle in to a watering can with a very positionable spout. Handy when the water is running off the grow bags because you canit hit the openings through all the foliage…also worth noting that it works for pretty much any bottle – even a pretty one!

Made by the wonderful folk at Higham Furniture, our new kitchen was installed in one day.
This took all the tradesmen by surprise who had not seen this happen in twenty years of being associated with kitchen building…..Made it a bit awkward when they came round to see what might be required of them later in the week [...]
