06/08/10 – Don’t settle…

I keep coming longingly back to Skandium….The latest thing to capture heart, attention and entire contents of bank balance is this…
From Studioilse in the “Seating for Eating” collection, it is available from Skandium – shops only. Lovely

03/08/10 – The Spoils

Here are some pics of the bounty from the grow bags…

And some things we didn’t mean to grow…..

01/08/10 – Finding Food

I was given a very useful little book for my birthday. The Sussex Food Finder.

With everything from fruit and veg box suppliers to local vineyards and Pick Your Own, it has a comprehensive and useful list of all the food and drink producers in Sussex. There is even a section devoted to chocolate…..

16/07/10 – Courgettes

Often over-looked, sadly under-rated, we have an abundance of tiny yellow courgettes courtesy of the miracle that is the grow bags. So far they have been the only harvest-able crop from my little experiment in temporary veg patch but we already have more than I can persuade the children to eat. Aside from lasagne, risotto, pasta dishes and fritatta [...]

01/07/10 – Disney Part II

Seren was given a Disney cd for her birthday and with Jensen’s help, she cranks the volume up to full and pulls some pretty impressive shapes.
We were singing along at the top of our lungs today to The Bare Necessities….How’s this for a perfect last verse…
And don’t spend your time lookin’ around
For something you want that can’t [...]

29/06/10 – Useful!

I found this on E-bay – Garden Pourer.
It turns any bottle in to a watering can with a very positionable spout. Handy when the water is running off the grow bags because you canit hit the openings through all the foliage…also worth noting that it works for pretty much any bottle – even a pretty one!

23/06/10 – Animal Feed

Not a very glamourous topic but one that has become close to my heart recently. We are all aware of the deforestation of the Amazon but there is another part of the world, with similarly incredible untapped natural reserves that is shirinking at a terrifying rate. Paraguay is home to some amazingly diverse flora and fauna but as we [...]

14/06/10 – Sugar Sugar

Ahhh honey honey….
Don’t worry – this is not another bee rant….
The lovely folk at sugar sugar are making me some authentic boob shaped cupcakes to go on my stand at Brighton Baby Expo. I’m going to give them away to happy customers and passers by and hopefully it will raise a smile, even if the football is [...]

10/06/10 – Our new kitchen

Made by the wonderful folk at Higham Furniture, our new kitchen was installed in one day.
This took all the tradesmen by surprise who had not seen this happen in twenty years of being associated with kitchen building…..Made it a bit awkward when they came round to see what might be required of them later in the week [...]

08/06/10 – Soup

Saw an advert for one of these today….

It chops, simmers and then blends the soup.
I favour one of these….

but when money is no object I may eat my words along with a lot more soup.
