16/08/10 – St Davids Cathedral, Pembrokeshire
Today we visited St David’s Cathedral, in the imaginatively named town of St Davids.
The stonework was amazing and the cathedral is set in a little green dip in the land, with perfectly manicured lawns (graveyards) and immaculate flower beds (memorials), it is very pretty whilst also being imposing…..
The highlight of the visit was the choir. [...]

15/08/10 – White Sands Beach
Went to a lovely beach today – White Sands Beach near St Davids. It was very busy but when the tide went out it lived up to its name beautifully. Here is a shots of my little surf chick in action…..

13/08/10 – Holidays
We are off on our travels again – this time to a cottage in West Wales with Jensen’s best-friend-since-birth George, and his family.
It is near Fishguard, up a track with grass growing on it and without a phone signal.
I don’t think we will score very highly on the green-front unless we are super organised. It [...]

08/08/10 – Biodegradable Tent Pegs
Need I say more? Genius.
No more forgotten metal tent pegs clogging up fields, animals and machinery. They biodegrade in a couple of months, and disappear completely after two years.
I love them. Available here

31/07/10 – Not glamping….Even better than that.
We are off camping this weekend and we are staying in possibly one of the most unglamorous camp sites ever set up.
It is a field, with chemical toilets.
It’s called Britchcombe Farm.
Don’t book it, don’t come.
I’m not going to mention the staggering views across the rolling British countryside. The fact that they deliver firewood to your tent so [...]

22/07/10 – Vintage at Goodwood
Husband and wife team, Mr and Mrs Wayne Hemingway have created a new festival at Goodwood. Called Vintage it will be celebrating all the best in design, art, fashion, food and music from every decade since the 40’s. The website alone is a feast for the eyes…
There are workshops, music acts, fancy dress parties and exhibitions and the weekend looks absolutely [...]

28/05/10 – Disneyland continued
It is as I suspected…..
Diabolical for the Planet:
1) There is no recycling in the cabin so unless I want to bring it all home with me again, we will be leaving a big old pile of landfill behind us when we go.
2) Although it is self catering, there is a two ring hob and no oven so I am [...]

27/05/10 – Disneyland
We are taking the children to Disneyland this year. This week in fact.
I don’t know how this happened apart from the momentary lapse of reason when I told James he could be in charge of holidays and before I had time to say “Do WHAT?!” we were off to Disneyland courtesy of a company bonus we were [...]

26/03/10 – Long weekend
We are off this weekend to celebrate my husband’s thirty-furumphthety birthday and my daughters second year on the planet.
We were supposed to go camping last year but (un)luckily we were struck down with what we thought was swine flu at the time and we couldn’t bear to be away from our toilet, not even for a minute. [...]
