28/08/10 – Retaileyes

I’m not sure this qualifies as green but it is a handy way of saving some cash and getting businesses to improve their performance.
Register as a secret shopper on Retaileyes and they will send you details of local businesses that require you to conduct stealth visits to check the service and quality of the output. [...]

22/08/10 – Made

I don’t normally blog about jewellery – not least because it is rare that I buy any as most of the things I really like are beyond my means.
Found this collection by Laura Bailey for a company called Made…Everything on the website is designed by someone high profile and then sourced and crafted in a fair trade [...]

21/08/10 – The Breastvest

I was looking at my wardrobe today and I am suffering from the 80/20 rule. I only wear 20% of my wardrobe but I wear it 80% of the time. There are many things in there that don’t fit me, don’t suit me, and lets face it, will never be worn again.
I still can’t quite [...]

20/08/10 – More excuses to shop…

Just found a lovely home ware site. The lady responsible is Anna Smith who worked as a design director and textile designer before she decided to put her expertise in to sourcing lovely products from all over the world.
She uses recycled packaging and makes sure her products are sourced ethically and made using fair-trade guidelines.
This [...]

14/08/10 – Melin Tregwynt

We visited a working woollen mill today – Melin Tregwynt. The factory tour itself was a bit uninspiring. A large stone barn with lots of spiky looking machines sitting dormant and a room with bats in that housed the old water wheel. The highlight was the sight of a very,VERY old lady working away by [...]

11/08/10 – Discount Home Stuff

Found this website, Achica – started by one of the people behind Asos.com, you join as a member and then if you so desire, take part in their sales every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Different companies are featured in each sale and the numbers taking part will increase with the number of members. There are some [...]

07/08/10 – Lovely things

Found this website – Roost Living.
These lovely wobbly bowls are for my non-Nestle Shreddies

and these cushions are for when money is no object, my husband has run off with the nanny/gardener/meals on wheels person, and I can fill my house with things I really like instead of things I think I can get away with….They [...]

06/08/10 – Don’t settle…

I keep coming longingly back to Skandium….The latest thing to capture heart, attention and entire contents of bank balance is this…
From Studioilse in the “Seating for Eating” collection, it is available from Skandium – shops only. Lovely

29/07/10 – Espardenyes

The espardenye is a hand made (to measure) espadrille from La Manual Alpargatera in Barcelona’s Barri Gotic.

About as eco friendly as it is possible to be in the foot wear world, these are also the epitome of Summer chic.
Check out this lovely blog spot on this very topic and book your Barcelona tickets so you [...]

28/07/10 – Welcombe Pottery

Was given a properly lovely soap dish for my birthday by Gullrock. It came all the way from Welcombe Pottery.

Here is the link to the website – Welcombe Pottery. My soap dish is the  blue and white dot pattern and I am seriously considering the drive to Devon to go and buy a few more [...]
